The Boneyard Project: Return Trip (Pima Air Museum, Tucson)

Richard, Chris, and I drove to the  south end of Tucson to see the painted nose cones and aircraft-as-canvas. I’m posting a few photos. Better images and history of the project are at www.ericfirestonegallery.com. Cathy Cowgirl, done in bubble gum pink and outlined in coloring book black, offended some visitors. You’ll have to look behind a privacy curtain to see CC. The exhibit will be at the museum until May 31, 2012. The museum is a must-see for history (WWII) and aircraft.

Stop for breakfast, lunch or dinner at Poco & Mom’s Restaurant, a New Mexican find with delicious food, mild salsa, and a huge basket of chips on each table. The servers are helpful and friendly. Chris and I split a chili rellenos lunch. The thick white cheese infused into a Hatch chili grabbed on to one of my coronary arteries. (Yum! So delicious.)  With the last bite of pork stew, Richard exhaled a satisfied oink.    www.pocoandmoms.com/ 1060 S. Kolb Road.
